XNX-AMAV-MHIC1 is a factory-configured Honeywell XNX with MPD infrared carbon dioxide 0–5 %v/v, mV personality, ATEX / IECEx (INMETRO on selected MPD SKUs), 4 × M25, LM25 aluminium (painted), Modbus RTU + 4–20 mA HART, local HART port on the transmitter. Use it on beverage carbonation, inerting cabinets and fermenter headspace—not as a toxic ppm cell.

Why this personality / sensor
CO₂ is heavier than air and fills cellars from the floor up. Percent-level CO₂ is an IR measurement; an electrochemical toxic cell cannot span 5 %vol. Mount 300 mm above the lowest floor and keep the optical path off wet drains.
Personality and replaceable parts
XNX-AMAV-MHIC1 uses the mV personality (MPD catalytic / MPD IR) board and mates with Honeywell MPD catalytic bead or MPD infrared sensors. Factory-fitted with MPD IR carbon dioxide 0–5 %v/v. Spares live on product-3991. Do not substitute Sensepoint XCD cartridges on XNX.
Typical applications
Soft-drink carbonation, brewery cellars and CO₂-inerted cabinets need a 5 %vol trip before asphyxiation. XNX provides the hard-wired extract start; a portable wand is only a leak survey tool.

Installation and wiring
Wall-mount XNX-AMAV-MHIC1 (LM25 aluminium (painted), approx. 2.8 kg) on a rigid stand sized for that mass. This SKU uses 4 × M25 entries—glands must match; do not retap XNX-AMAV-MHIC1. Land XNX-AMAV-MHIC1 4–20 mA HART per the loop drawing; relays/Modbus/FFB exist only on the matching option board. Magnetic-wand menus on the XNX-AMAV-MHIC1 lid stay non-intrusive. XNX-AMAV-MHIC1 5 %v/v CO₂ hugs the cellar floor.

- Is XNX-AMAV-MHIC1 a toxic ppm CO₂ detector?
- No. XNX-AMAV-MHIC1 is 0–5 %v/v IR for asphyxiation / inerting. ppm indoor-air CO₂ is a different instrument class.
- Should I mount XNX-AMAV-MHIC1 high or low?
- Low. CO₂ is heavier than air. Keep XNX-AMAV-MHIC1 about 300 mm above the lowest floor, not at the roof ridge.
- When should I swap XNX-AMAV-MHIC1 aluminium for 316SS?
- Use XNX-AMAV-MHIC1 (aluminium, ~2.8 kg) in inland, painted plant. Coastal, splash and sour-water decks should move to stainless sibling XNX-AMSV-MHIC1.
